THIS ALBUM WILL BE A WORK IN PROGRESS THROUGHOUT 2024. NEW TRACKS WILL BE ADDED ON THE FINAL DAY OF EVERY MONTH.

Alecto: a Greek godess of fury who, in adaptations of 'Oedipus', is calmed with soothing music.

Nerva: a space station from the sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’, where human refugees lie in suspended animation until the station returns to reinhabit a post-apocalyptic Earth.

Muzak: a brand name for recorded music that is played quietly and continuously in public places, such as airports, hotels, and shops, to make people feel relaxed.

‘Alecto Nerva Muzak’ is an ambient record by the M-Corporation, est. 2018 to manufacture music of such a soothing and embalming nature. All tracks are recorded quickly as a celebration of the power of the unconscious mind, and utilise a variety of methods, from basic Logic presets to sample manipulation.

The album will be updated with at least one new track on the last day of every month in the year 2024.

Max Williams, Chief Executive Offal, M-Corp:
“Although ‘Alecto Nerva Muzak’ was partially inspired by an open call for submissions to an online ambient compilation, my head was already in an ‘elevator muzak’ headspace, having left academia and working mundane night shifts in a supermarket. In order to prevent artistic stagnation, I wanted my music to reflect the monotony and isolation of this awkward transition. I also hope to create a musical diary of sorts of ‘my’ 2024, and do something different to the conventional album… I hope it may be interesting for some people out there to see this collection evolve on a monthly basis, coming gradually into focus as I master a style of music I’ve rarely explored in this detail before. Hopefully it won’t be the conventional Bandcamp ambient drone affair, but something more interesting and melodic, while still being perfect for background listening while you work. Reassuring, but with an underlying melancholy or uneasiness."
